Where is The Dolphin Scuba Team?
We are located in the small harbour town of Kalkan, Antalya,
Turkey. We have been operating in Kalkan
since 1993 and were the first diving operator to have a business
in the town. Our office is located in the row of shops along
the edge of the harbour along from the yacht club. Although we
have an office (which is normally open between 7pm & 11pm),
if you find the office closed, look out for our dive
boat moored in the harbour where you can usually find a member
of staff aboard. |

Were is Kalkan?
The small historic town of Kalkan is an enchanting place and
one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's gorgeous Lycian
Coast, with a complete absence of mass tourism. Kalkan, situated
in the Antalya region of Turkey, remains a charming and unspoiled
haven of lush nature, brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, historic
architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality.
You can see where Kalkan is in relation to the rest of Turkey
by looking at a map of the area or find
out some general information on the Turkey
page. For the latest News Headlines from Turkey, click

Kalkan Information:
Kalkan borders on the idyllic, a village of a couple of thousand,
far enough away from the main resort areas to be inaccessible
to those who don't want to travel more than 45 minutes from the
airport, but still reachable in 2 hours from Dalaman and less
than 2 from Antalya. The road in each direction is fairly pretty
anyway and as long as your transfer is air conditioned you'll
enjoy the ride.
The delights of the Xanthos valley are 20 minutes away to
the west and these include the 15km of sand at Patara as well
as the Lycian ruins scattered between Tlos and the coast. If
you're after activity type stuff in addition to the
diving, then canoeing, trekking, boat trips and some other
bits and pieces can all be arranged with local agents such as
ABI
Travel or Kalamus
Specialty Tours in Kalkan.
The town itself is centred around the little harbour, where
the fish come ashore in the morning and the boats leave for the
beaches and bays with their load of snorkel equipped day trippers.
There are also opportunities to take 2 or 3 day cruises from
Kalkan, giving you the chance to experience a night or two on
a boat without having to fork out for a private charter. Back
from the harbour is an old town, bazaar area where you'll find
restaurants and carpet shops, as well as places to buy the essential
sun block and cold drinks.
There's no shortage of accommodation
in around the harbour and a little further afield, rooms are
available in most price categories ranging from simple pansiyons
to the more upmarket hotels like the Patara Prince and Kalkan
Regency. Kalkan lacks sandy beaches in the village itself but
with Patara 15 minutes away and regular transport services to
the nearest beaches you won't have difficulty finding your place
in the sun. |
